Department Of Commerce
The department of commerce was established in the year 1989 with a vision “To impart holistic education, through ethics and enriching students to make them independent individuals to meet the challenges of the transitional world”. The department consists of 4 facultymembers (including 1 Ph.D., 2 M.Phils.) teaching 17 subjects to more than 150 students under the B. Com. three years course with semester system (Bangalore Central University Scheme). Thousands of alumni have graduated and well settled in various fields since the department’s inception.
The faculty members of the department have published various research articles in national and international journals. They have also authored several text-books of the university.The faculty members also regularly participate in national and international conferences, have presented papers and have received best paper awards too.
The department has regularly organized number of activities like seminars, study tours, competitions for students, guest lectures for students, entrepreneurship development programmes, vocational training programme, Tally certificate course, etc. The department also provides opportunity to students to participate in inter-collegiate fests, offers career counselling, encourages scholarship applications and helps moulding students’ talent by giving them professional suggestions.
The department also encourages social service activities and conducts blood donation camps, visits to old age homes and orphanages, participation in Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, etc.
